Executive Director
Job Description
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary: The Executive director will take a lead role in strategic planning and community strategist who will intentionally work together with donors, local churches, agencies, and other partners to sustain and grow our programs and ministries. The Executive Director will identify, develop, and grow donor relationships. developing ministry leaders to reach young people from every people group and growing loving relationships with them will also be a goal of our Executive Director. The Executive Director will have a heart for the Kingdom of God, a passion for Christ, and all God’s children. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors of escape Ministries.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Organizational Leadership and Strategy
- Work collaboratively with the board to cast vision, clarify organizational goals, and determine strategy.
- Support the growth of current ministry programs and provide direction and influence on the development of future programming.
- Oversee financial planning and management including leading the annual budgeting process, monitoring cash flow, and fulfilling all financial reporting requirements.
- Build a positive culture of Christian faith that attracts quality board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and participants in Escape’s programs.
- Donor and Key Stakeholder Development
- Oversee annual fund development plan creation and execution.
- Investigate and apply for appropriate grants.
- Identify and engage new individuals, corporations, churches, schools, and others as future donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Retain and further develop existing donor and partner relationships.
- Create community awareness of Escape Ministries’ mission and programs by sharing in various setting including frequent public speaking engagements.
- Staff Development
- Manage, empower, and develop a talented staff.
- Oversee the hiring of future staff as the organization grows.
- Ministry Development
- Lead the organization in a reflective journey towards equity, diversity, and inclusion at all levels of the organization.

Pay Range: $20 per hour
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Summary: The Administrative Director provides high quality administrative leadership to the front office through active participation in the office’s day-to-day operational functions. They support the organization and staff in developing and maintaining policies and procedures, interacting with hospitality to our community, recording accurate records of donor giving and information, bookkeeping, maintaining personnel files, assisting in the onboarding of volunteers, and supervising office volunteers. The Administrative Director is supervised by the Executive Director and works in partnership with the Associate Executive Director. The Administrative Director will have a heart for the Kingdom of God, a passion for Christ and embrace the mission and vision of Escape YFGK (Escape Ministries).
Position Responsibilities
Administration
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring office facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained
- Answer phones, welcome guests and direct people to the appropriate staff or resource.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and services (in accordance with the budget) to support the administration, operation, and programs for the organization
- Process volunteer applications, including background and reference checks
- Maintain upkeep of our website, Instagram, and Facebook presence in alignment with our marketing strategy to promote the great work that Escape is doing to inform, inspire and call to action our stakeholders.
- Process receipts, mailings and other information and ensuring they are distributed to the appropriate person or place.
- Secure and maintain contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain complete and accurate files on all employees and volunteers
- Monitor and implement policy and procedures for staff and volunteers and review regularly so that they reflect best practices for the ministry
Fiscal Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with our outside accounting firm
- Monitor and record all expenses following approved accounting and basic bookkeeping procedures
- Monitor staff schedules and timekeeping to ensure accurate payroll
- Monitor all donations and ensure they are recorded accurately in the donor database
- Develop procedure for donations to be processed and accepted
- Bank all donations - Prepare deposits/finances for weekly deposits- fleshed out more
- Submit all invoices and expenditures to accounting firm for payment and processing
- Prepare current account balances for each Board meeting
- Participate in development and implementation of annual budget
- Record and track expenditures of grant funds and assist in the reporting of the use of grant funds and their results.
- Record donor information into donor database (DonorView) and provide reports as requested.
Ministry Fleet Stewardship
- Create policy and procedure for ministry vehicle reservation and accident/incident reporting
- Ensure ministry vehicles are prepared with emergency/roadside kit, PPE equipment, sanitizer, First Aid and current registration and insurance information
- Ensure travel logs are in each vehicle with completed destination and mileage and turned in by designated time
- Maintain proper vehicle insurance and registration, updating tags and necessary documentation is in each vehicle
- Schedule routine maintenance and service of ministry vehicles
Certification/Skills
- Education and experience in personnel management, supervision and bookkeeping
- Organizational skills in office and fiscal management
- Familiar with Ottawa County community structure and resources
- Ability to maintain a positive work culture
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Google Suite and Canva
- Competent in accounting software – preferably experience with QuickBooks
- Ability to work independently and to problem solve
- Commitment to respect confidential information of programs, staff, families, donors, vendors, and volunteers
- Ability to update websites and post current information
- Able to pass background check and drug screening
- Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated ability for cultural competency
- Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan and manage multiple platforms
- Leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics, problem solving, decision making and delegation
- Ability to train, develop and supervise office volunteers
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Licensed and insured driver, with clean driving record and ability to drive a 12-passenger van
- First Aid/CPR certification (required within three months of hire date)

Learning Coach
Status: Part-Time, Hourly (35 hours/week September – June and 15-25 hours/week June – August)
Pay Range: $18 per hour
Position Summary: The Learning Coach will help develop, plan, and implement education programming for Escape YFGK (Escape Ministries). The Learning Coach works in partnership with Education Director to ensure every student (6-12) is equipped with academic and personal tools to successfully graduate from high school and transition to college and career successfully. The Learning Coach will have a heart for the Kingdom of God, a passion for Christ and embrace the mission and vision of Escape YFGK (Escape Ministries).
Position Responsibilities
Alternative Suspension
Accountability Program (ASAP)
- Familiarity with online curriculum such as Odysseyware, Edgenuity, and American High School
- Facilitate the application and intake process with student and parent
- Develop individualized learning plan for each incoming student and update those plans as needed
- Keep accurate records of student progress and provide timely communication with Education Director parents
- Help prepare students for their school’s readmission process
After School Tutoring
Program
- Help plan, develop, and execute an effective tutoring program for middle and high school students
- Assist in training volunteer tutors and interns
- Assist students with assignments and homework, projects, test preparation and other academic task
- Prepare learning materials and set up learning spaces
- Communicate with school officials and teachers regarding student’s enrollment and assignments
- Interact with students to provide guidance, support, and motivation to complete task
Summer Programming
- Develop enrichment activities and programs for students in 6th-12th grades that will combat the summer learning loss
- Plan and facilitate summer school for the ASAP program
- Coordinate our College & Career Exploration summer program
- Plan and coordinate field trips
Certification/Skills
- Desire to work with students academically in a non-traditional setting
- Passion for middle and high school students
- Experience in program development and relationship-building
- Understanding of ACES, Trauma-Informed Care and Restorative Practices
- 1-3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity at a youth serving non-profit, public school or other community-based organization working with youth in vulnerable situations and/or youth living in neighborhoods impacted by poverty
- Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated ability for cultural competency
- Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan and manage multiple activities
- Leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics, problem solving, decision making and delegation
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Google Docs
